Corporate responsibility
Hackman is a brand used by Fiskars Group. The business of the Fiskars group is founded on responsible operations that follow the company’s values, where the respect for nature and the environment play a central role. Fiskars also requires all of its suppliers to follow national laws and pursue continuous efforts to reduce their environmental impact. Our product designs are timeless and intended for long-term use. We believe that as a counter balance for a culture of disposability, people value well-designed things that are made to endure time and changing trends.
Countries manufacturing Hackman products
Most of Hackman’s cookware are manufactured at the Sorsakoski cookware factory belonging to Fiskars Group, located in Leppävirta. The Sorsakoski factory specialises in the production of coated and non-coated steel and aluminium dishes. For example, all Kovanaama, Matador, Rotisser, Classic and Aina series products are manufactured there. Cast iron products and Kajsa products are delivered from China. There is no cutlery manufacturing in Finland. All of Hackman’s cutlery is manufactured by contracted manufacturers in Europe and Asia.

Contracted manufacturers
Fiskars pursues long-term profitable business in an ethical, responsible and sustainable manner. We use contracted manufacturers in order to guarantee an interesting, versatile and competitive range for the consumer, even when we ourselves do not have sufficient capacity or technical facilities to manufacture a particular product. Fiskars is committed to ensuring that working conditions in its supply chain are safe, workers are treated with respect and dignity, and business operations are environmentally sustainable. To complement in-house manufacturing, Fiskars has developed a network of external suppliers. These are seen as long-term partners and are selected on the basis of their capability to support Fiskars' quality, supply chain, cost, and technical targets with flexibility. Fiskars personnel from local sourcing offices and business areas work in close cooperation with our suppliers.
Fiskars requires its partners to commit to principles covering labor and human rights, health and safety, environmental impact, and business ethics. Extensive supplier audits have been carried out since 2009, and audit criteria were updated in 2010 based on the latest trade requirements, international standards, and industry practices. Suppliers are required to follow a code of conduct document, and audits are carried out to verify compliance.
Fiskars Supplier Code of Conduct was updated in 2011
